WiFi Security
The primary interface for active reconnaissance and attacks. PwnPower provides comprehensive WiFi security testing including network discovery, client enumeration, deauthentication attacks, and WPA handshake capture.
Scanning
Network Scan
Click Scan Networks to initiate a full WiFi scan across all channels.
Note: Scanning briefly interrupts your connection to the PwnPower AP. You may need to reconnect afterward.
What Gets Detected
For each access point:
- SSID (network name)
- BSSID (MAC address)
- Vendor (from OUI lookup)
- Security type (Open, WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA3)
- Channel and signal strength (RSSI)
- WPS status
- Hidden network flag
- Connected clients
Channel Distribution
The channel chart shows AP density per channel, helping identify congested frequencies and optimal attack channels.
Network Accumulation
The UI accumulates networks across multiple scans:
| Component | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Backend | Stores up to 32 APs per scan record |
| UI | Accumulates unlimited unique networks |
| Clients | Unlimited per network (accumulated) |
| Reset | Page reload clears accumulated data |
This is useful for mapping large areas where a single scan can’t see everything.
Capture Modes
PwnPower supports multiple packet capture modes:
| Mode | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Handshake Capture | Capture WPA 4-way handshake for offline cracking |
| General Capture | Capture all traffic on a channel |
| Auto-Capture (Idle) | Automatic handshake capture when device is idle |
