Firmware Update

Upload new firmware over-the-air (OTA).

Update Process

  1. Obtain a .bin firmware file built for your chip (ESP32-C3 or ESP32-C5)
  2. Click Choose File and select the binary
  3. Click Upload & Flash
  4. Wait for the device to reboot

Warning: Uploading invalid firmware may require re-flashing via debug pads. Ensure the firmware matches your chip type.

Troubleshooting

If the firmware update fails:

  • Ensure the .bin file is built for the correct chip (ESP32-C3 or ESP32-C5)
  • Try a smaller file (OTA partition is ~1.6MB)
  • Re-flash via debug pads if device is bricked

Note: The PwnPower device does not have a USB port. To re-flash firmware, you must open the plug and connect to the internal debug pads. The device is designed to run only PwnPower firmware.
