Generic Packet Capture

Capture and analyze raw wireless packets for detailed network analysis.

Packet Capture

Capture raw 802.11 frames on the selected channel and saves them to .pcap for analysis.

How to Use

  1. Select a target in Wi‑Fi Recon (sets the channel).
  2. Click Start Packet Capture. The button flips to Stop only after the device confirms start; brief lag means it may be queued/busy. If stats are increasing but the button hasn’t flipped yet, capture is running.
  3. Watch live stats: Packets and Bytes.
  4. Click Stop Packet Capture to finish.
  5. Download .pcap from File Manager. When using the default auto filename, captures are named by type in the captures/ folder:
  • captures/all1.pcap, captures/all2.pcap, … (filter: ALL)
  • captures/mgmt1.pcap, captures/mgmt2.pcap, … (filter: MGMT)
  • captures/data1.pcap, captures/data2.pcap, … (filter: DATA)
  • captures/ctrl1.pcap, captures/ctrl2.pcap, … (filter: CTRL)
  • captures/beacon1.pcap, captures/beacon2.pcap, … (filter: BEACON)

Handshake captures continue to use the handshakes/ folder and naming:

  • handshakes/handshake1.pcap, handshakes/handshake2.pcap, …
