Connection
The primary way to interact with the Hackers Nightlight is through its web-based user interface (WebUI).
Connecting in AP Mode (Default)
By default, the device starts in Access Point (AP) mode. It creates its own Wi-Fi network that you can connect to.
- Power on your Hackers Nightlight.
- On your computer or smartphone, scan for new Wi-Fi networks.
- Connect to the network with the SSID
HNL-XXXXXX
. - The default password is
password
. - Once connected, open a web browser and navigate to
http://192.168.4.1
orhttp://hnl.cc
.
You should now see the WebUI.
Configuring AP (Access Point) Mode
You can change the settings for the device’s own Wi-Fi network from the System Settings panel.
- SSID: Change the network name.
- Password: Set a new password (must be at least 8 characters).
- Channel: Change the Wi-Fi channel (1-11).
- Hidden: You can hide the network’s SSID from being broadcast.
After saving, the device’s AP will restart with the new settings, and you will need to reconnect.
Connecting in Client Mode
You can also configure the device to connect to your existing Wi-Fi network. This is useful for accessing the device without having to switch networks.
To do this, navigate to the Network Information panel in the WebUI.
- Scan for available networks.
- Select your network’s SSID from the list.
- Enter the password and click Connect.
Once the device connects to your network, it will be assigned an IP address by your router. The device will no longer broadcast its own AP. You can find the new IP address from your router’s client list and access the WebUI there.
